A commissioned mural from the trustees of Templewood Court, Hadleigh. Alan Hockett and I worked with Year 4 children at Hadleigh Junior School during July 2014 running workshops to develop a ‘Wishing Tree’ design, based on a walnut tree that originally stood on the site in Solby’s Lane. From the children’s designs four were chosen and I drew up a template for the final image incorporating elements from each. During early October we prepared the wall and the children (now Year 5’s) visited the site to paint the mural as part of the Hadleigh Art Trail. We then painted areas that were out of reach and finally I added the details to complete the project, Alan then added the protective coating.
The image will be used to produce Christmas cards for 2014 to be distributed by Rebecca Harris the local Castle Point MP.
