This pastel portrait was started as a demonstration piece for Thurrock Art Society. I worked on the raccoon on the right for the majority of the session, but was determined to add the second raccoon. Due to the time restraints the portrait needed to be finished at a later date. I adjusted the second raccoon and built up further layers of pastel to achieve a sense of realism.

I used a range of hard, soft handmade pastels and pastel pencils on Sennelier pastel card, in antique white.
