This is a commissioned portrait in pastels of a Staffordshire Terrier.  I worked from an 7″ X 5″ photograph and produced a far larger image for the client.   Changes were made from the original photographic reference supplied by adjusting the ears and tail to make the dog look less nervous.   I also created a more pleasing background to compliment the portrait.
