This coloured pencil portrait was a personal project.  The image was drawn on a dark yellow shade of Canson paper which gives the portrait a warm hue.

Layers of pencil work were built up, blended and burnished using sections of tissue paper.  Areas of applied pencil were removed to create highlights by using sharply cut edges of plastic eraser.
