This watercolour portrait was started by adding the background first.  Masking fluid was flicked randomly, then strong washes of colour were applied and salt was added to granulate the surface.  The wild leeks were then filled in with strengthening levels of paint and highlights were added with limited use of white gouache.

Originally this portrait was displayed in a bright green frame but the lady that purchased it requested that I changed it to a mauve frame.
