My client commissioned me to produce this pastel portrait of their Scottish Terrier named Tilly as a Christmas present to her husband.

The image was rendered on black textured pastel board using a range of hard, soft and pencil pastels.

I adjusted the angle of  Tilly when creating the preliminary drawing from the photographic reference supplied, so she was not viewed from above but as a head on image therefore eliminating any distortion.

I provided a photograph of my dog Tilly, a Scottish Terrier, as I wanted a surprise painting for my husband for Christmas.

Well what can I say it is beautiful, Jane managed to capture all the colours and highlights of Tilly’s hair.

Although Tilly is a black Scottie, Jane managed to bring the burgundies and browns out in the painting, it is just like looking at her.

We have had so many wonderful comments and I would not hesitate in recommending Jane to my family and friends.
